Attorney Jasmyne M. Baynard is a partner at Wirth + Baynard and an accomplished trial and appellate litigator. She concentrates her practice on municipal civil rights defense, complex constitutional litigation, and legal training for law enforcement and municipal professionals.
Jasmyne represents municipalities, government agencies, law enforcement officers, public officials, and municipal employees in state and federal courts. Her experience includes claims involving excessive force, wrongful death, the First Amendment, due process, the Driver’s Privacy Protection Act, municipal liability under Monell, and other constitutional and statutory issues affecting public entities. She has also represented clients in multiple appeals before the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
A persuasive and strategic courtroom advocate, Jasmyne approaches each matter with a clear understanding of both the legal issues and the practical challenges facing her clients. She is committed to maintaining open, effective communication throughout the litigation process and works closely with clients to develop defense strategies tailored to their particular needs, operations, and objectives.
In addition to her litigation practice, Jasmyne develops and presents legal training for law enforcement agencies and municipal professionals. Her presentations address developing legal issues, practical risk management, and the responsibilities of public entities and their employees.
Outside of her practice, Jasmyne serves on the Diversity Recruitment Committee for Marquette University Law School and coaches the Shorewood High School Mock Trial Team. She enjoys spending time with her children and staying active. She is a proud Marquette Law graduate, her loyalty to the Badgers runs deep.
