Attorney Gregg J. Gunta, the founder of Gunta Law Offices, has been representing municipal governments and their employees from the perspective of a risk manager, a civil liability defense lawyer and an employment practice lawyer, for over 40 years. His specialty areas are advising law enforcement supervisors on the handling of critical incidents, use of force, deadly force, and employment practice matters.
Gregg has represented municipal clients in hundreds of cases involving general liability claims, employment practice liability claims, public official claims, and police professional claims, and has advised clients on critical risk management, litigation valuation and defense strategy. He has defended numerous law enforcement officers, and has litigated matters in both state and federal courts, as well as in the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals, arising out of alleged constitutional violations, and alleged violations of state and federal statutes involving municipal employees.
Gregg has conducted numerous risk prevention lectures for police and government personnel. He is an associate member of the Wisconsin Chiefs of Police Association. He is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police and a member of its Legal Officers Section.
